Job description

Maintenance Technician (Distribution Center) | OmniCable | Buford, GA
OmniCable is a leading redistributor of wire, cable, fiber, and electrical products with 45+ years of operational excellence and 18 distribution centers across North America. We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support equipment reliability and facility operations at our Buford, GA location.
Why This Role Matters
You'll play a critical role in keeping our operations running safely and efficiently. By maintaining equipment and facility systems, you help minimize downtime, support productivity, and ensure we can meet customer expectations every day.
What You'll Do
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment, including wire cutting machines and material handling equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
  • Complete repairs and replace faulty components quickly
  • Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs

Facility Maintenance
  • Inspect and maintain building systems (dock doors, HVAC, racking, gates, etc.)
  • Perform general repairs including basic carpentry, painting, and upkeep

Preventive Maintenance
  • Execute scheduled maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life
  • Complete inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and cleanings
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in facility systems
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies

Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure equipment and facility systems meet safety standards
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and address hazards
  • Follow all safety requirements (including LOTO and PPE)
  • Provide basic safety or equipment guidance to team members as needed

  • Preventive maintenance completed on schedule and documented accurately
  • Fast, effective troubleshooting and repair of issues

Work Environment & Schedule
  • On-site role in our Buford, GA distribution center
  • Monday-Friday schedule with flexibility for off-hours or emergency repairs
  • Warehouse/production environment requiring standing, walking, lifting, and use of tools
  • Work around equipment such as forklifts, dock systems, and cutting machines
  • Occasional travel to support other facilities
