JOB SUMMARY:
The accounting analyst position is responsible for providing general accounting support to the organization, including but not limited to preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, month-end closing activities, forecasting, budgeting, and performing cost and variance analysis. This position manages complex and confidential company financial records and operates with significant discretion and autonomy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
โ€ข Reconcile costs incurred for publicly ticketed and private events. Compile, review, record, and prepare billing requests.
โ€ข Work with event accountants to provide timely and accurate event cost information.
โ€ข Work with operations, sales and marketing departments to invoice for their services provided.
โ€ข Analyze and reconcile various general ledger accounts monthly.
โ€ข Participate in the monthly close process, including preliminary review of financial statements, preparation and posting of journal entries, and explanation of budget to actual variances.
โ€ข Assist in preparation of monthly forecasts and annual budget for assigned department(s) through analysis of accounts and working in a collaborative manner with department leaders.
โ€ข Execute in accordance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and recommend new ideas or changes to current policies and procedures, as needed.
โ€ข Continuously evaluate business processes and implement changes that increase efficiencies.
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
โ€ข Minimum of two years related experience.
โ€ข Possess the highest integrity and ethical standards.
โ€ข Effective and proactive communication, both orally and in writing.
โ€ข Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
โ€ข Self-starter with strong attention to detail.
โ€ข High level of resourcefulness, initiative, and good judgment. Setting priorities and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
โ€ข Intermediate Excel skills.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
โ€ข Working knowledge of accounting principles to ensure financial results are in conformity with Generally Acceptable Account Principles.
โ€ข Sports and Entertainment experience
โ€ข Experience with Oracle.
โ€ข Experience with Workforce and/or Workday.
