Are you a true hunter who thrives on opening new doors, building relationships, and winning new business?

Oliver Inc. is seeking an experienced Business Development Executive to expand our presence throughout the West Coast by developing new customers within the packaging industry. This is not an account management role, we're looking for someone who enjoys prospecting, creating opportunities from the ground up, and closing complex B2B sales.

If you have a proven track record of selling custom packaging, printing, or manufacturing solutions and want the autonomy to build your own territory while partnering directly with executive leadership, we'd like to hear from you.

Relocation Assistance Available: We are open to relocating experienced packaging professionals from New York to Southern California for this opportunity.

What You'll Do

As our Business Development Executive, you will:

  • Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, trade shows, and strategic outreach.
  • Develop and execute a territory growth strategy focused on expanding market share and driving new revenue.
  • Identify and penetrate target accounts within the cosmetics, beauty, personal care, food, consumer packaged goods (CPG), and other strategic industries.
  • Conduct executive-level meetings to identify custom packaging opportunities and understand customer challenges.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through quotation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline that consistently exceeds activity and revenue expectations.
  • Partner with Structural Design, Estimating, Operations, and Customer Service to develop innovative packaging solutions.
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation, pipeline reporting, and sales forecasting.
  • Represent Oliver Inc. at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
  • Consistently achieve quarterly and annual new business objectives.

What Success Looks Like

Top performers in our Business Development Executive role will:

  • Generate 25โ€“40 new prospect meetings each month
  • Create 10โ€“15 qualified sales opportunities monthly
  • Maintain a pipeline equal to 3โ€“5ร— annual sales quota
  • Deliver $2Mโ€“$5M in annual new business (territory dependent)
  • Consistently achieve new customer acquisition, gross margin, and activity goals

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a highly driven, self-motivated sales professional who enjoys building business from the ground up.

You should have:

  • A proven history of generating new business rather than managing inherited accounts.
  • Experience selling custom packaging, folding cartons, retail displays, commercial printing, labels, custom manufacturing, or other industrial solutions.
  • Demonstrated success prospecting, cold calling, networking, and developing new markets.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Experience navigating complex buying organizations and selling to executive decision-makers.
  • A consistent record of exceeding new business quotas.
  • The ability to work independently with a high level of accountability and autonomy.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

Why Oliver Inc.?

At Oliver Inc., you'll join one of North America's leading packaging and printing manufacturers, serving nationally recognized brands with innovative packaging solutions. You'll work directly with the Vice President of Sales, have the support of an experienced structural design and operations team, and enjoy the freedom to build and grow your own territory.

If you're motivated by creating opportunities, winning new business, and making a measurable impact, this is the opportunity you've been looking for.
