Job description

Ready to tune a machine until every carton window is perfect?

If you enjoy translating specs into precise machine settings—and take pride in seeing flawless cartons stack up—Oliver Inc. wants to meet you. We’re a trusted name in print and packaging, blending centuries of expertise with modern, sustainable technology to deliver speed and consistency for our customers.

Why This Role Matters

Our customers count on on-time delivery and retail-ready quality. As the operator of our high-speed carton windowing line on 2nd shift, you’re the one who makes that happen—by setting up, maintaining, and running equipment that places plastic film windows and applies adhesive with pinpoint accuracy.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare each run: configure the windowing machine, load board blanks and film rolls, and align materials to spec.
  • Calibrate glue systems and guides to hit exact placement requirements.
  • Monitor quality throughout: check registration, adhesion, and film placement.
  • Maintain target throughput while protecting quality standards.
  • Spot and prevent defects—including misaligned windows, glue overflow, scratches, and wrinkles.
  • Accurately record counts, downtime events, and scrap.
  • Team with QC and finishing crews to resolve issues fast.
  • Handle routine PM: cleaning, lubrication, and minor part changes.
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical/electrical issues to reduce downtime.
  • Follow safety rules to the letter: LOTO, PPE, and good housekeeping.
  • Coordinate with feeders, packers, and helpers to keep the line efficient.
  • Communicate proactively with supervisors about status, materials, and repairs.
  • Help train apprentices or new teammates when asked.
What You Bring
  • Experience operating finishing/packaging machinery (folding carton or print/pack preferred).
  • Mechanical aptitude for equipment setup, adjustment, and light maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
  • Comfort reading job tickets, work orders, and specs.
  • Solid basic math and measurement skills.
Bonus Skills
  • Hands-on work with windowing machines.
  • Knowledge of adhesives, window films, and board substrates.
  • Forklift certification or proven safe material handling.
Physical & Environmental
  • Stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs during the shift.
  • Operate within a manufacturing environment that includes noise, dust, and moving equipment.
  • Availability for overtime and flexible hours based on production needs.
Equipment & Tech
  • Packaging Machines
  • Slitter Machine
  • Gluer Machine
Core Strengths
  • Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills
  • Packaging Experience
  • Machine Setups for Production Runs
Compensation & Culture
  • SHIFT: 2nd
  • $1,000 Sign-On Bonus
  • Competitive compensation and full benefits
  • A collaborative culture centered on growth and continuous improvement
  • Modern equipment in a clean, safety-focused facility
