Job Summary:

The School of Business Administration at the University of Mississippi is hiring an Admissions Counselor to recruit the next generation of Ole Miss business students.

Job Description:

The School of Business Administration at the University of Mississippi is hiring an Admissions Counselor to recruit the next generation of Ole Miss business students. This position identifies and recruits prospective students both within the state of Mississippi and throughout the US. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, coordinating and implementing recruitment strategies, counseling prospective students and families, coordinating the School of Business student ambassador program, and assisting with onboarding and advisement at new student orientation. This position requires extensive travel and events scheduled outside of typical business hours.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's Degree + 3 years of experience, and a valid driver's license.

Substitution Statement: An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.

Job Responsibilities:

Counsels prospective and admitted students on academic programs, educational planning, and career opportunities within the School of Business

Manages recruiting for high schools, community colleges, and other institutions

Represents SOBA at college fairs, transfer days, admitted student events, and campus visit programs

Conducts individual interviews and information sessions with prospective students and families

Identifies opportunities for admissions and outreach events; schedules logistics and secures resources

Creates targeted communication plans and materials aligned with enrollment goals

Identifies, promotes, and maintains partnerships focused on outreach, recruitment, and admission

Collaborates with faculty and student ambassadors to showcase academic programs and career outcomes

Works with University-level admissions to ensure alignment on policies and yield strategy

Maintains accurate and timely records of prospect and applicant interactions

Tracks recruitment funnel metrics and contributes to regular reporting
