As an oilfield dispatcher, your job is to coordinate operations at and around an oilfield. In this role, you may provide a direct line of communication for all employees, help report any problems with oil flow, and otherwise work to ensure smooth operations throughout the oilfield. Oilfield dispatchers often receive both emergency and non-emergency calls, make rapid decisions, and receive orders and requests from buyers. When not directly talking with people, you spend a lot of time looking for patterns that suggest problems with systems. This job can be unpredictable, so the ability to multitask and prioritize activities is essential to your success.
