Job description

Job Title: Chemist
Location: Vernal, UT 84078
Duration: 6+ Months Contract
Pay Rate: $28.00 - $34.00/hr on W2
Schedule: Day Shift, Monday – Friday (40-hour work week with potential overtime). Flexibility for 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (includes a 1-hour lunch break).
 
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Chemist to support daily operations at our US Onshore Regional Laboratory. Working with limited supervision, this role is critical to executing routine and non-routine analytical testing that ensures chemical program integrity, supports field recommendations, and contributes to overall product quality. Key Responsibilities
  • Laboratory Testing: Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing in accordance with approved methods and procedures.
  • Data & Documentation: Accurately document analytical work, observations, and results in laboratory information systems (LIMS) and reports; verify data to ensure timely reporting.
  • Equipment & Troubleshooting: Maintain laboratory instrumentation and workspaces in safe, operational conditions. Troubleshoot analytical and sample-related issues.
  • Safety & Quality (QA/QC): Actively participate in HSE and QA/QC programs, conduct risk assessments before tasks, and maintain strict compliance with PPE and safety policies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
  • Experience: 0–2 years of relevant experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or research laboratory setting (Entry-level candidates with strong academic lab experience are welcome!).
  • Skills: Strong communication, detailed documentation skills, and the ability to follow strict safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and sample preparation.
  • Background or experience in oilfield chemistry, chemical manufacturing, or heavy industrial analytical labs.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sharp attention to detail.
