Build a better future as a Refinery Operator for our vegetable oil refinery in Louisville, KY. The Refinery Operator IA is responsible for the oil sent from the refinery to the bleachers to reach a certain color before being sent to storage until needed. The Operator controls the flow rate and process of coloring the oil specific to each order as well as manually switching the motors and bleaching tanks over as needed. The Refinery Operator IA takes samples often to ensure the color is being met and also prepares the oil coming in from the rail carts a few times a week.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Cleans presses
  • Cleans rail carts and adds nitrogen to oil products
  • Dumps clay into pre-coat tank
  • Takes samples to the lab every 2 hours
  • Runs chlorophyll test
  • Notifies refinery if product results do not meet standards
  • Reports any leaks on pumps, machines and lines to supervisor
  • Makes sure all valves and lines are set to correct tank
  • Power washes screens whenever they are plugged up.
  • Performs any and all tasks assigned to you by a member of the GFGB management team that is approved by your supervisor.
  • Refills and dumps different parts of tanks and overall upkeep
  • Samples and tests the product to make sure color and the product are safe and correct.
  • Follows flow rates and read charts

Your experience includes:

  • Experience in machines and industrial knowledge
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be able to climb, bend and stoop, lift 50 lbs frequently and stand/walk for long periods of time.
  • Recordkeeping, reading temperature gauges, monitoring storage volume and content is required.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US, now and in the future, without sponsorship
