Job Summary

This position will support the natural gas production operations in the Marcellus and Utica regions. This role provides technical expertise across process control design, implementation, and troubleshooting, while supporting sales and project execution within the Remote Automated Solutions business unit. Responsibilities include site assessments, design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of RTUs, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and related instrumentation. The position requires close collaboration with internal teams, customers, and Emerson partners, with regular travel across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide process control and automation expertise with emphasis on Marcellus and Utica natural gas production
  • Fully understand process control design to perform implementation and troubleshooting
  • Provide technical/sales support to the RAS business unit
  • Provide technical expertise for site assessments, mechanical, electrical, and software designs
  • Perform site installation, acceptance testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all RTU electronic flow measurement equipment
  • Implement control schemes with RTUs, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems and communication networks
  • Act as the representative for other Emerson entities identifying opportunities and introducing the appropriate resources necessary to complete the transaction
  • Travel within Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia; may require overnight travel


Requirements:

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Possesses a 4-year engineering degree
  • Has 2+ years in process control/automation experience.
  • Emerson RTUs, multiple data protocols, and Rosemount instrumentation experience is a plus
  • Has a strong work ethic, excels at work/task planning, and has proficient communication skills
  • Must be a team player able to work closely with Account Managers and other business units
  • Possesses a high technical aptitude including strong troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of gas and liquid measurement standards is a plus
  • Experience with project management and coordination is a plus
