Job description

Safety Management Systems one of the largest providers of Health, Safety, Environmental, Medical and Inspection services is currently accepting applications for a Recruiter. This is an office position based in Lafayette, La.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Implementing daily recruiting strategies using a variety of resources in a fast-paced environment, including online job boards, social media, professional networking, and internal databases to identify and attract top talent.
  • Conducting interviews with candidates for current openings and future opportunities, assessing their qualifications and experience.
  • Clearly and professionally communicating job offers and rejections to candidates, managing expectations and maintaining a positive candidate experience.
  • Collaborating closely with Operations to strategically prioritize openings and accurately assess departmental staffing needs.
  • Overseeing daily document and certification management, ensuring all necessary new hire paperwork and certifications are collected, verified, and organized efficiently.
  • Generating a variety of detailed reports and spreadsheets (e.g., Google Sheets, Excel) to track recruitment metrics, analyze trends, and present findings to management.
  • Cultivating relationships with medical schools, nursing programs, hospitals, and healthcare conferences to proactively promote job opportunities and build a robust talent pipeline.
  • Coordinating and actively participating in job fairs and campus recruitment events to attract qualified candidates.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in medical and/or oil and gas recruiting preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Travel required as needed by the demands of the position, including potential overnight stays.
  • Proven capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work additional hours as required by the demands of the job.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the proficiency to compose clear and professional memos, letters, advertisements, and other correspondence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with diverse individuals, including field employees, Supervisors, Operations personnel, Human Resources, various levels of Management, and Executive leadership.
  • Superior organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities and maintaining accurate records.
  • Proven ability to multitask effectively and adapt quickly to an evolving work environment
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply concepts related to employment law, effective candidate screening techniques, and professional personnel recruitment techniques.
  • Willingness to attend seminars or classes relating to the development of professional human resource knowledge and skills.
