The Role

As a Program Manager, you have the ability to break down a strategic vision into discrete interconnected projects, each one delivering its own critical component to realize the vision. As the interface for the project managers leading each interconnected project, your choices will have a resounding impact across projects and secure successful program outcomes.
We are seeking a Senior SAP Program Manager with deep expertise in Oil & Gas and Energy industry transformations to lead large-scale, complex SAP programs, including S/4HANA migrations, AMS transformations, and digital modernization initiatives.

This leader will be responsible for end-to-end program delivery, governance, and financial performance, while partnering with client executives to drive measurable business outcomes across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.

Key Responsibilities include:

Program Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead large, multi-year SAP transformation programs, including ECC S/4HANA migrations, SAP RISE, and hybrid-cloud deployments
  • Oversee program planning, execution, and delivery across multiple workstreams (functional, technical, data, infrastructure)
  • Establish and manage program governance structures, including SteerCo, PMO, and executive reporting
  • Manage dependencies across system integrators, hyperscalers, and third-party vendors
  • Drive cutover planning, risk mitigation, and issue resolution for mission-critical SAP environments

Financial & Commercial Ownership

  • Own P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and margin performance for large SAP programs
  • Develop and manage resource plans, cost models, and delivery schedules
  • Support deal shaping, proposal development, and contract negotiations
  • Ensure adherence to contractual SLAs, KPIs, and delivery commitments

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as trusted advisor to C-level executives (CIO, CTO, COO, Digital, and Operations leaders)
  • Lead executive steering committees and governance forums
  • Drive alignment between business stakeholders and IT delivery teams
  • Communicate program status, risks, and value realization to senior leadership

Oil & Gas Industry Expertise

  • Lead SAP programs across upstream, midstream, and downstream value chains
  • Apply deep knowledge of:
    • Hydrocarbon accounting and trading
    • Plant maintenance and reliability (EAM)
    • Logistics, pipeline, and distribution operations
    • Regulatory and safety compliance requirements
  • Ensure SAP solutions align to industry-specific operational and regulatory standards

Transformation & Innovation

  • Drive business process transformation and standardization across SAP landscapes
  • Lead adoption of:
    • SAP S/4HANA and RISE with SAP
    • SAP BTP and cloud-native architectures
    • Automation, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities
  • Identify opportunities for optimization, cost reduction, and digital innovation

Team & Delivery Leadership

  • Lead global teams comprising:
    • Solution architects
    • Functional and technical leads
    • PMO, data, and integration teams
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership development
  • Ensure alignment with delivery methodologies (e.g., SAP Activate, Agile, PMI)

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 15+ years in SAP delivery, with 8+ years in program management roles
  • Proven experience leading large-scale SAP programs ($25M+ / multi-country) (recommended benchmark for hiring clarity)
  • Demonstrated track record delivering:
    • SAP ECC to S/4HANA transformations
    • AMS and managed services transitions
    • Complex multi-vendor programs
  • Strong expertise across SAP modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, EAM, PM, etc.)
  • Experience managing program-level governance, risks, and financials
  • Executive presence and communication
  • Complex stakeholder management
  • Financial and commercial acumen
  • Risk management and decision-making
  • Strategic thinking with delivery execution discipline

Oil & Gas Industry Experience (Critical)

  • 10+ years in Oil & Gas or Energy sector programs
  • Experience with:
    • Upstream production and asset lifecycle management
    • Midstream logistics and pipeline operations
    • Downstream refining, distribution, and retail
  • Understanding of industry compliance, safety, and reliability standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with RISE with SAP / Clean Core strategies
  • Familiarity with: SAP IS-Oil / PRA / TSW solutions/ EAM / asset-intensive industries
  • Certifications: PMP / PgMP / SAP Activate
  • Experience working in global consulting or SI environments

The compensation range for this position in the US is $156,360 to $296,880 based on a full-time schedule. Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills, and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city, or local minimum wage requirement.

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl's discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl's applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave and paid time off. Note: if this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
