Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to service rental equipment, (small tools/Equipment) to join our clients team in Sulphur, LA for direct hire needs. As a Field Service Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of engine-driven equipment, such as welding machines, generators, light towers, air compressors, and more.
The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality service.
Essential Duties:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with small engine equipment in the field.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes and filter replacements.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and prevent future issues.
  • Ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records of all service and repair activities.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnoses, repairs, and maintenance needs.
  • Provide cost estimates for repairs promptly and submit them to sales for customer approval.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary:
• $22.00- 28.00 per hour
Expected Hours & Schedule
40 hours per week
8-hour days - Monday through Friday
Rotating on-call shift - nights and weekends
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training in small engine repair is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a small engine mechanic or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of two-stroke and four-stroke engines.
  • Familiarity with various small engine equipment brands and models.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to handle the demands of the job.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to always pass a drug test and MVR
  • Must be able to obtain site-specific safety requirements - i.e. safety counsel classes and on-site classes.
