Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Blue Mountain
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Job Overview:
Maintenance Technician primary duties include providing safe and timely mechanical and electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting, and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Conducts all work in a safe, efficient manner, using appropriate tools, according to established safety rules and practices while striving for ZERO Accidents.

  • Encourages Safety First, identification of Near Misses along with appropriate corrective actions.

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs plant machinery, equipment and physical structures.

  • Diagnoses failures in machinery or equipment and makes necessary repairs.

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment using electrical and electronic test equipment.

  • Performs and documents preventative maintenance.

  • Follows specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings and lockout/tag out procedures to make repairs.

  • Performs repairs by skillfully using hand tool, power tools, hoist, crane, and measuring and testing instruments.

  • Performs plumbing and pipe fitting and related work in installing, repairing or routing water, sewage, air and gas pipes.

  • Documents repair procedures and parts used from inventory and maintain accurate inventory of tools and equipment.

  • Performs welding, acetylene brazing, cutting torch, routine layout and other duties as needed.

  • Keeps areas clean and free of clutter.

  • Available for On Call Duty

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum two (2) year technical degree in a related field or electrical/mechanical experience preferred.

  • Must effectively use CMMS.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Mobile equipment operating skills, such as forklifts, cranes, front-end loader etc. preferred.

  • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.

  • Fabrication skills preferred

  • Must be able to read and understand manuals, parts, diagrams, schematic drawings and blueprints.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to perform maintenance skills

  • Electrical tasks such as changing motors

  • Demonstrated ability to perform detail-oriented work.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Possess core values of Honesty and Integrity.

  • Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with lifting heavier weights.

  • Bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, walking, and climbing stairways and ladders frequently.

  • Must be able to climb and work at heights greater than 100 feet.

  • Physical endurance to withstand operation of geared equipment and to withstand heavy physical labor required of position.

Pay Rate: $28.09 per hour
