Job description

Position: Custodial TechnicianStatus: Full time, permanentLocation: Ohio History Center (Columbus, OH)Salary: $16.50 per hourFull Benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, paid time off and holiday, public retirement pension Summary:Responsible for the ongoing daily custodial duties for the Ohio History Center, Ohio Village, Collections Care Center, and Collections Warehouse.  Essential Functions:Clean and maintain floor surfaces. Sweep, mop, strip wax, and polish hard floor surfaces. Vacuum and clean carpet. Wash walls and windows, dust, and wax furniture and fixtures.Empty trash and recycling receptacles. Clean and sanitize restrooms. Performs set up and tear down for events and programs as requested. Other duties as assigned Required Education & Experience:High School Diploma PLUS one to three years working experience  Desired Skills & Experience:Comfortable communicating with staff and the public. Knowledge of operating custodial equipment, such as floor cleaners and surface disinfecting sprayers.Understanding of safe procedures and usage of chemicals used in custodial tasks. Required Competencies:Can locate and use resources to get things done, uses resources effectively and efficiently, and arranges information in a useful manner. Assumes accountability of role and responsibilities; anticipates the needs of others.  Able to process information in a consistent manner, simultaneously displaying adaptability when necessary.
