Rhode Island Fast Ferry operates high-speed ferry service to Martha's Vineyard and lighthouse cruises on Narragansett Bay. Our commercial division, Atlantic Wind Transfers, supports offshore wind projects along the East Coast with advanced crew transfer vessels.

The Role

Atlantic Wind Transfers is seeking a Senior Deckhand / AB to join our offshore wind Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) operations based in Little Creek, VA. This is a full-time, non-rotational position-candidates must be based locally or willing to relocate. Housing is not provided.

As Senior Deckhand, you'll play a critical role onboard, supporting the Captain in the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the vessel. This is a hands-on position requiring strong seamanship, mechanical awareness, and the ability to lead and support crew in a dynamic offshore environment.

What You'll Do
  • Assist the Captain with safe vessel operations during crew transfer missions

  • Support and help lead deck crew in daily onboard tasks

  • Perform routine vessel maintenance and upkeep

  • Ensure compliance with all company safety, security, and operational procedures

  • Assist with the safe transfer of offshore personnel to and from wind farm structures

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the vessel

  • Contribute to a strong, team-oriented onboard culture

  • STCW Basic Training required

  • Valid TWIC card

  • Strong seamanship and situational awareness
