Experienced Wind Turbine Technicians for Pre-assembly
Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Project
Be part of U.S. offshore wind history.The largest Offshore Wind Farm in the United States is under construction off the coast of Virginia, featuring 176 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-222 DD turbines - each capable of generating up to 15 MW of power.
Muehlhan Wind Service is seeking Experienced Wind Technicians to join our harbor-based pre-assembly team inPortsmouth, Virginia. Applicants must have 3+ years of experience to be considered for this position.
Location: Portsmouth Harbor, Virginia
Technician profiles we are interested in:
  • Pre-assembly technician
  • Wind Energy construction
  • Experience on Siemens Gamesa platforms

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Installation and Assembly:
  • Assemble and install LV and SWG platforms on weld frames.
  • Mount vertical legs, brackets, cable trays, and other components as per detailed work instructions.
  • Install project-specific cabinets, mechanical lift parts, and dehumidifier pipes.
  1. Maintenance and Repair:
  • Perform regular maintenance checks on wind turbines and associated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Ensure all components are securely mounted and function correctly.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols, including PPE requirements.
  • Participate in pre-job briefings and follow ergonomic risk management practices.
  • Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with local HSE requirements.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Complete checklists and risk assessments for each task.
  • Document updates and changes made during installation and maintenance.
  • Report any issues or hazards to the Project Manager.
  1. Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other technicians and engineers to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Participate in training sessions and stay updated on new technologies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior technicians.

  • Visual acuity includes depth perception, field of view and ability to distinguish colors.
  • Must be able to climb turbine towers, often with tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to lift heavy equipment, parts, and tools, some of which weigh 50 pounds or more.
