Printing Press Assistant / Feeder OperatorAccurate Paper Box is seeking an experienced Printing Press Assistant / Feeder Operator to support our lead pressman on a Komori LS640 six-color sheet-fed offset press.
This position assists with press setup and operation, feeder operation, wash-ups, material handling, job changeovers, and general printing department duties. The ideal candidate has prior sheet-fed offset printing experience and is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead pressman with press setup, operation, and job changeovers.
  • Set up and operate the press feeder to maintain consistent sheet feeding and production speed.
  • Load, stage, and prepare paperboard for upcoming jobs.
  • Monitor for doubles, misfeeds, jams, alignment issues, and other feeding problems.
  • Perform blanket, roller, ink fountain, coating, and other required press wash-ups and cleaning.
  • Assist with inks, coatings, plates, and other press-related materials.
  • Remove, organize, and move printed loads as needed.
  • Assist with basic press adjustments and troubleshooting under the direction of the pressman.
  • Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe press area.
  • Assist with other printing department and general production duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Previous sheet-fed offset printing experience strongly preferred.

  • Previous experience as a press helper, second pressman, or feeder operator preferred.

  • Experience with Komori or comparable sheet-fed offset presses such as Heidelberg, KBA/Rapida, Mitsubishi, or similar equipment preferred.
  • Specific Komori LS640 experience is not required.

  • Experience setting up or operating a sheet-fed press feeder preferred.
  • Familiarity with press wash-ups, blankets, rollers, ink systems, plates, and basic press maintenance.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to recognize basic press or feeder problems.
  • Forklift and/or pallet jack experience preferred; training is available.
  • Dependable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to maintain a steady production pace.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, bend, reach, push, and pull throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely handle and move paperboard and printed materials.
  • Comfortable working around large production machinery, inks, coatings, cleaning solutions, and normal manufacturing noise.
Position Overview
The Press Assistant works directly with the lead pressman to keep the press running safely and efficiently. The position primarily involves feeder operation, preparing and moving stock, press wash-ups, job changeovers, cleaning, and assisting the pressman throughout production.

This is a hands-on position requiring mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work as part of a press crew.
