Position Summary

The Hamlet Housing Authority is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Office Assistant to provide administrative support and exceptional customer service to residents, applicants, vendors, and the public. This position plays a vital role in the daily operations of the Housing Authority by assisting with office administration, recordkeeping, and front desk responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet residents, applicants, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls.
  • Receive, process, and distribute incoming mail and correspondence.
  • Maintain tenant and applicant files in accordance with Housing Authority policies.
  • Assist with data entry, filing, copying, scanning, and document preparation.
  • Prepare reports, letters, notices, and other administrative documents.
  • Accept rent payments and issue receipts as assigned.
  • Assist with public housing and housing program administrative tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of tenant and agency information.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
