Job description

What The Role Is

The Associate, Operations Procurement is responsible for supporting the operations procurement team at Clearway Energy Group in facilitating strategic vendor relationships and securing the equipment and services needed to advance Clearway's multi-gigawatt operational fleet. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of wind, solar, BESS  technologies, and the renewable energy industry. This position will support operations procurement strategies that ensure quality performance of services and timely delivery of major and minor components to projects and provide administrative and stakeholder coordination support to the operations procurement team.

This is a hybrid position located in our Scottsdale office.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Develop and manage strategic sourcing programs for the operational fleet's equipment and service needs, balancing priorities across new and aging turbine platform technologies
  • Support the procurement team with transactions and robust internal reporting on materials and services for the operational fleet, in close coordination with operations, engineering, and asset management, to inform procurement decisions
  • Build and maintain reporting and analytics that inform procurement decision-making and sourcing strategy across the fleet
  • Run competitive RFx events for both materials and services, coordinating with internal stakeholders, aftermarket suppliers, and OEMs
  • Establish and manage long-term aftermarket programs for materials and services at sites no longer under original equipment or long-term service warranty
  • Provide document support and input on supply and service agreements with vendors and stakeholders to ensure efficient closure of negotiations and stakeholder review
  • Take ownership of and negotiate key exhibits to relevant contracts and ensure stakeholder review and engagement
  • Facilitate the procure-to-pay process for materials and services, including vendor qualification and onboarding, vendor selection, contract negotiations, internal approvals, issuance of purchase orders, management of payments, logistics, and quality assurance
  • Maintain records of bids received and work with internal SMEs to generate forward-looking technology and cost projections that support strategic programs across the fleet
  • Support technology assessments of existing and upcoming platform technologies and communicate associated opportunities and risks to inform fleet-wide procurement strategy
  • Support internal updates and reporting of organizational and procurement progress and status
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, supply chain, engineering/technical degree, or related field
  • 4+ years of renewables industry experience
  • Familiarity with commercial negotiations and contracting
  • Effective project management, negotiation, contract management, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
  • Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), OneNote, and document control
What Would Be Nice
  • Experience in Turbine Supply Agreements and wind and solar O&M agreements
  • Familiarity with SAP procurement systems is preferred
