Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Office Manager / Controller to oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of our growing restaurant group — currently two locations, with a third opening in New York City. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a professional environment. The Office Manager will help ensure the office runs smoothly, support internal teams, maintain vendor relationships, and handle bookkeeping and basic accounting tasks. Most important to us: the ability to audit, strong accounting skills, excellent organization, and being great with people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily office operations and ensure the workplace remains organized, efficient, and professional.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for vendors, service providers, and office-related contractors.
  • Coordinate vendor communication, scheduling, ordering, and follow-up to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Handle office supply inventory and place orders as needed.
  • Assist with bookkeeping and basic accounting, including invoice tracking, expense reporting, reconciliations, data entry, and recordkeeping.
  • Perform basic internal audits of cash handling and daily sales, and help maintain internal controls across locations.
  • Reconcile daily point-of-sale (POS) sales to bank deposits and flag discrepancies.
  • Organize and maintain office files, records, and documentation with a high level of accuracy.
  • Support scheduling, correspondence, and general administrative tasks for the office team.
  • Help coordinate mail, deliveries, and office maintenance needs.
  • Monitor office procedures and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and organization.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Qualifications

  • Ability to audit, with working knowledge of internal controls — the most important skill for this role.
  • Strong accounting skills, with experience in bookkeeping or basic accounting tasks.
  • Previous experience in office management, administrative support, or a similar role preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage vendor relations professionally and effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar office software.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Reliable, professional, and proactive approach to work.
  • Able to work on-site during scheduled hours (this role is not remote).

Preferred Traits

  • Detail-oriented and highly accurate
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Dependable and self-motivated
  • Positive and professional demeanor
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced office environment

Schedule & Time Off

  • Part-time, 30 hours per week — Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–6:00 PM, on-site.
