Job description

About Us

NatureBell is a growing health and wellness brand specializing in high-quality nutritional supplements. We are committed to delivering thoughtfully formulated products made with quality ingredients and supported by strong manufacturing and quality-control standards.

As our business and operations continue to grow, we are investing in technology, systems, and processes that improve inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and operational scalability. We are looking for talented people who are practical, collaborative, and excited to build better systems that support our continued growth.

About this Role

We are seeking a hands-on Odoo ERP/WMS Developer to develop, maintain, and continuously improve our Odoo environment, with a strong focus on warehouse, inventory, supply chain, manufacturing, and operational workflows.

Reporting to the Supply Operations Manager, you will work closely with warehouse and cross-functional teams to understand operational challenges, translate business needs into practical system solutions, and develop, test, deploy, and support Odoo enhancements.

This is not a traditional help-desk role. The ideal candidate combines strong Odoo development skills with a practical understanding of warehouse and supply chain operations and enjoys seeing how technology improvements translate into measurable operational results.

Key Responsibilities

Odoo Development & System Management

  • Design, develop, test, document, and maintain custom Odoo modules and system enhancements.
  • Manage and support Odoo.sh development workflows, including Git branches, builds, staging validation, production deployments, logs, dependencies, and upgrade readiness.
  • Configure and customize models, fields, views, menus, reports, QWeb templates, automated actions, workflows, access rights, and record rules.
  • Troubleshoot failed builds, server errors, scheduled jobs, data issues, integrations, security issues, and system performance problems.
  • Build and maintain API and webhook integrations with eCommerce, shipping, finance, reporting, and other business applications.
  • Follow structured testing, documentation, deployment, and change-management practices to maintain system stability and data integrity.
  • Plan and execute controlled data imports, migrations, reconciliations, and master-data cleanup involving products, packaging, locations, lots, expiration dates, and opening inventory.
  • Develop automated tests for custom modules and maintain documented deployment, validation, and rollback procedures.
  • Prototype and validate major workflow changes through controlled pilots before warehouse-wide deployment.
  • Support our current Odoo Online environment and help assess, plan, and execute a controlled transition to Odoo.sh when approved. Following migration, manage Git-based development, staging, testing, and production deployment workflows.

Inventory, WMS & Supply Chain

  • Configure and improve Odoo Inventory, Barcode, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and warehouse-related workflows.
  • Optimize receiving, quality control, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, returns, internal transfers, and inventory-counting processes.
  • Support warehouse locations, routes, push/pull rules, putaway rules, reordering rules, reservations, packages, units of measure, product packaging, lots, expiration dates, barcode labels, and inventory traceability.
  • Improve manufacturing and kitting workflows, including bills of materials, manufacturing orders, bundles, and component management.
  • Work directly with warehouse employees and supervisors to test system and scanner workflows under real operating conditions.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and system-related operational issues and recommend practical solutions.

Business Systems & Process Improvement

  • Translate operational needs into functional requirements, technical solutions, test cases, and implementation plans.
  • Partner with the Supply Operations Manager and cross-functional stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and implement system improvements.
  • Evaluate whether business needs are best addressed through standard Odoo configuration, automation, customization, or custom development.
  • Coordinate with Odoo, external developers, and technology vendors when additional technical support or escalation is needed.
  • Maintain system documentation, user guides, SOPs, testing records, and change documentation.
  • Train employees on Odoo workflows, system updates, and new functionality.
  • Support user acceptance testing, data validation, system releases, and post-launch support.
  • Support additional business applications and integrations as needed, with Odoo remaining the primary focus of the role.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on Odoo development and administration experience in a production environment, or equivalent Odoo project experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing or significantly customizing Odoo modules beyond basic Odoo Studio configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with Odoo.sh, Git, development/staging/production environments, build troubleshooting, and controlled deployments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Python, Odoo ORM, XML, QWeb, PostgreSQL concepts, and Git.
  • Functional knowledge of Odoo Inventory and Barcode, including warehouse locations, operation types, routes, replenishment, reservations, packages, lots, and traceability.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Montclair, California and collaborate directly with warehouse and office teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with recent Odoo versions, particularly Odoo 18 or Odoo 19.
  • Experience with Odoo implementations, migrations, or custom-module upgrades.
  • Experience supporting multi-company, multi-warehouse, high-SKU, lot-controlled, expiration-controlled, or regulated-product environments.
  • Practical experience with warehouse operations, inventory control, supply chain, purchasing, manufacturing, or logistics.
  • Experience integrating ERP systems with eCommerce platforms, marketplaces, carriers, EDI, 3PLs, or financial systems.
  • Experience with JavaScript/Owl for frontend customization.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, APIs, webhooks, SQL troubleshooting, barcode hardware, or Zebra label printing.
  • Odoo certification, Odoo partner experience, or a portfolio of relevant custom development work is a plus.

Why Join NatureBell

  • Work on systems that directly impact receiving, inventory accuracy, production, fulfillment, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate directly with warehouse and operations teams and see the real-world impact of your work.
  • Take meaningful ownership of Odoo development and system improvements rather than working only through a traditional support queue.
  • Gain broad exposure across ERP, WMS, supply chain, manufacturing, eCommerce, and business systems.
  • Join a growing health and wellness company where technology and operational scalability are increasingly important to the business.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $90,000–$110,000 annual base salary, plus performance-based bonus
  • Medical and dental insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and paid sick leave
  • Paid company holidays
  • Monthly meal allowance
  • Free office snacks and drinks

Pay: $90,000 - $110,000 per year plus bonus incentives. The level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience will determine the compensation offered.
