As an Ocean Import Booking Representative, for Laufer Group International you’ll be at the center of global trade, driving the execution of international ocean shipments that keep supply chains moving. This role is critical to ensuring on-time delivery, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across complex, fast-paced logistics networks.
If you thrive in a team environment, enjoy problem-solving, and want to play a key role in international shipping, ocean freight operations, and supply chain execution, this is your opportunity to make an impact.
Why Laufer Group International:
  • Competitive compensation aligned with ocean import roles
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Be part of a company redefining global logistics and supply chain solutions
  • Work alongside industry experts in a collaborative, high-performance environment
  • Gain exposure to international trade, ocean freight operations, and global markets
  • Opportunity to grow your career in a rapidly evolving, high-impact industry

What you’ll do:
  • Own the end-to-end booking process for international ocean freight shipments (FCL/LCL), ensuring speed, accuracy, and compliance
  • Optimize routing, carrier selection, and transit schedules to meet client expectations and maximize efficiency
  • Audit shipment details (POs, SKUs, cargo specs) to ensure data integrity and operational accuracy
  • Ensure full compliance with AMS, ISF, ACI (Canada), AFR (Japan), and global shipping regulations
  • Proactively track and manage shipment milestones (gate-in/out, loaded, departures) and resolve exceptions in real time
  • Monitor transshipments and sailing schedules, communicating delays and solutions to clients and internal teams
  • Issue booking confirmations, loading updates, and revisions with precision and urgency
  • Partner cross-functionally with documentation, operations, sales, and global agents to ensure seamless execution
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders, providing guidance on routing, pricing, and logistics strategy

What we are looking for:
  • Some experience in ocean freight forwarding, international logistics, or supply chain operations
  • Ability to manage high-volume shipments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with global teams and clients
  • Sharp attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and execution
  • Proficiency in logistics systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Knowledge of global shipping routes, ocean carriers, and freight forwarding processes
  • Working understanding of import/export compliance (AMS, ISF, customs requirements)
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
