Commercial Assistant Manager - Ocean Trade

On-site role Mon-Fri (w/1 hour lunch)

As an essential corporate function, OOCLโ€™s Outbound Trade department oversees and manages all commercial aspects relating to outgoing vessel utilization and profitability specific to an individual Trade (i.e. Transatlantic/Transpacific/Latin America) and customer segment (i.e. BCO/NVO/Major Commodity). This includes strategic planning, dynamic market analysis, contract and rate negotiation, and tactical execution to provide extended support to our sales organization. The candidate should possess excellent analytical and implementation abilities along with advanced communication skills to ensure buy-in from internal stakeholders and customers alike.

Job Responsibilities for Commercial Assistant Manager:

  • Review performance against Trade targets goals and objectives and follow up with regions for actions.
  • Maintain regional lifting performance and facilitate portfolio and Model Ship optimization.
  • Handle regional commercial mitigations & pricing enquiries.
  • Maximize revenue, contribution, and lifting through service contract terms and rates negotiations.
  • Develop pricing strategies in conjunction with Trade management.
  • Coordinate service contracts or amendments filing.
  • Developing online platform strategies and future commercial system.

  • Knowledge of Tariff rules and regulations
  • Negotiation & Decision-Making Skills
  • Market knowledge and competitive analysis
  • Detail Oriented with ability to multitask
  • Yield Management
  • Related Trade service structure

Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Industry or relatable knowledge/transferrable skills
  • Seeking 5+ years industry experience in carriers/forwarders or logistics related companies
