Job description

We are seeking an experienced, bilingual Import Operations Specialist / Entry Writer to join our Miami team. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in import freight forwarding and customs entry writing, with strong knowledge of both air and ocean shipments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage air and ocean import shipments from pre-alert through customs clearance and final delivery.
  • Prepare and process customs entries, ensuring all information is accurate and compliant with applicable regulations.
  • Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills, arrival notices, and other import documentation.
  • Coordinate with customers, carriers, overseas agents, customs officials, and transportation providers to keep shipments moving efficiently.
  • Monitor shipment progress, communicate status updates, and resolve documentation, clearance, or delivery issues.
  • Maintain complete and accurate shipment records in CargoWise while providing responsive customer service.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in import freight forwarding and customs entry writing.
  • Demonstrated experience managing both air and ocean imports.
  • Proficiency in CargoWise.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Strong understanding of import documentation, customs procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced logistics environment.
