Job description

Ocean Freight Coordinator
Automation Personnel Services is seeking a highly organized and detaildriven Ocean Freight Coordinator to support our logistics operations within a warehousebased environment. This role is responsible for coordinating ocean freight shipments, managing container activity, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring timely communication with shipping lines and internal teams. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and comfortable working in a fastpaced operational setting.

Pay Rate  
$20.00-25.00 per hour (DOE)

Schedule and Hours  
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. 

Ocean Freight Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Coordinate all aspects of ocean freight shipments, including booking, scheduling, tracking, and documentation
  • Communicate daily with shipping lines, carriers, freight forwarders, and vendors to ensure timely movement of containers
  • Monitor container statuses, demurrage, detention, and return timelines
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate inventory and container records within internal systems
  • Prepare and review shipping documents such as BOLs, packing lists, and arrival notices
  • Collaborate closely with warehouse personnel to ensure accurate receiving, loading, and dispatching of freight
  • Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, or documentation issues
  • Utilize spreadsheets, databases, and logistics software to track and report freight activity
  • Support general warehouse operations as needed to maintain workflow efficiency
Ocean Freight Coordinator Qualifications and Requirements 
  • Experience in ocean freight coordination, shipping lines, or container management
  • Strong computer proficiency, including spreadsheets, data entry, and logistics platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Background in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain operations
  • Familiarity with inventory control processes and warehouse management systems
  • Background check and screening (Required)
