At etc, we are actively developing cutting-edge exploration and defense missions. If you join the team, you will have the opportunity to work on hardware and software for US Department of Defense missions, NASA programs, and much more.
About the role
  • We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to support our hardware teams. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in embedded systems, mechanics, systems engineering, software development, and propulsion technologies critical to exploration missions.

What you'll do
  • Assist in the design, analysis, and testing of space and ocean exploration systems.
  • Contribute to systems engineering processes, including requirements definition and integration.
  • Support the development and testing of mechanical components and mechanisms.
  • Write, test, and refine software for control, data acquisition, and system simulation.
  • Aid in the development and analysis of embedded systems.
  • Conduct data analysis, simulations, and model testing.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to troubleshoot and optimize system performance.
  • Document experiments, design processes, and project progress.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute innovative ideas to solve complex technical challenges.

Qualifications
  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong interest and foundational knowledge in embedded systems, mechanics, systems engineering, software development, and propulsion technologies.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for exploration and technological innovation.
  • Skills:
    • Experience with CAD, MATLAB, Python, or other relevant programming tools is a plus.
    • Familiarity with control systems, hardware integration, or propulsion technologies is desirable.
    • Excellent self-directed problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

The pay range for this role is:
20 - 40 USD per hour (San Francisco)
