Job description

FDRsafety is seeking a Site Safety Manager to oversee a construction project in Detroit, MI. This position will last approximately 2 years and is expected to operate on a Monday-Friday day shift schedule for 40-50 hours/week. This individual will be responsible for providing toolbox talks, site walkthroughs, inspections, auditing, assisting, and advising management of their findings daily for a single site location. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, or related field OR BCSP certification (ASP, CHST, or CSP) or similar certification required.
  • Candidates must have an OSHA 30 Hour in Construction Certification.
  • Candidates must have a  First-Aid/CPR/AED certificate. 
  • Candidates should have 5+ years of construction safety experience as a lead with the proven ability to identify workable solutions to eliminate hazards.
  • Strong background in constructions procedures and processes.
  • Experience with developing and facilitating safety programs and training.
  • Experience working with MIOSHA
  • Experience managing safety on large, complex projects.
  • Experience with confined space, fire protection, and hot work permits is required.
