ProSidian seeks an Industrial-Organizational Psychologist (PIRS021A) in the NOVA/Washington, DC Area to support client requirements as part of our Government and Public Services (GPS) Practice.ย  ProSidian Industrial Organizational Psychologist (I/O Psychologists, Occupational Psychologist, Organizational Psychologist) will provide technical advisory, strategy, and analytic services is through an applied discipline within psychology to focus on the competencies, job alignment, and behavior of employees in the (private Sector and Federal Sector) workplace. ย They apply psychological principles and research methods to improve the overall work environment, including performance, communication, professional satisfaction and safety for CONUS/OCONUS Clients.ย  ProSidian I/O Psychologists will lead and work alongside industry-leading clients to help them make decisions and implement enhancements to their organizations' strategy, productivity, performance, and long-term profitability.ย  Teamwork, Transparency, innovation, collaboration, sustainability: ย these are the hallmark issues shaping government initiatives today.ย 

ProSidian I/O Psychologists (IOP) will also assist in determining the requirements of clients' projects and programs by defining, analyzing, and managing requirements to help fulfill clients' needs.ย  While the specific job deliverables will vary according to clients' needs, our Industrial Organizational Psychologist have the broad skills needed to tackle a wide variety of business initiatives.ย  ProSidian I/O Psychologists will have the opportunity to exercise strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the chance to solve complex problems and communicate your findings.ย  ProSidian I/O Psychologists will work independently and collaboratively with a team.ย 

This position is for an Industrial Organizational (IO) Psychologist (IOP) that also performs functions as an exam psychometrician.ย  The position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience performing duties as a psychometrician.ย  The IOP is responsible for conducting, and leading a support team of subject matter experts to, job task analyses (JTAs) for one or more occupational functions across the Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal Civilian Agencies.ย 

The IOP will design tests / exams and collect empirical data and quantify personal traits of individuals, compare those traits across a population, administer exams to subjects in groups and individually, analyze and provide written reports on the results, and use these combined with professional knowledge, and research on industry best practices provide recommendations to shape the certification program.ย  The IOP will apply IO psychology experience to ensure the client's products can be used in a high stakes manner (i.e., supporting hiring, promotion, pay, certification award, and discipline decisions) with high confidence.ย

As a Consulting Industrial Organizational Psychologist, ProSidian I/O Psychologists will:

  • Development of competency models defined by subject matter expert ratings on tasks, work behaviors and competencies, which will be used as a basis for all human capital functions (e.g., career development, selection, performance management, job family identification, development of vacancy announcements, skills gap assessments, etc.).ย 
  • Job analysis studies be conducted in electronic form, including survey administration/data collection, storing results, data analysis, and report delivery.ย 
  • Psychometric assessment development and analysis - Job-Specific Situational Judgment Tests (SJTS), job simulations, behavioral or situational interviews, Job Knowledge Tests (JKTS), and other types of competency-based inventories or knowledge tests (multiple choice exams).
  • Train personnel in organizational or compliance procedures.ย 
  • Utilization of job assessment instrument(s) and competencyย  measurements based on the results of systematic job analyses conducted on the targeted position(s)
  • Utilize excellent client facing skills while interacting with clients regularly and will show the ability to learn about client needs, agency strategy, and challenges
  • Advise others on human resources topics.ย 
  • Analyze business or financial data.ย 
  • Analyze jobs using observation, survey, or interview techniques.ย 
  • Apply psychological research to the workplace
