Position Summary
The Medication Aide is responsible for safely administering medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse while providing direct resident care that promotes dignity, independence, and quality of life. This role combines medication administration with hands-on caregiving and excellent customer service.

ResponsibilitiesMedication Administration
Administer medications accurately and safely in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, and community policies.
Document medication administration in the electronic medication administration record (eMAR).
Observe residents for medication effectiveness and adverse reactions and report concerns promptly to the licensed nurse.
Maintain medication carts and storage areas according to regulatory standards.
Monitor medication supplies and notify the nurse of refill needs.
Follow infection prevention and medication safety protocols.
Resident Care
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including:
Bathing
Dressing
Grooming
Toileting
Ambulation
Transfers
Assist residents with meals, hydration, and snacks as needed.
Encourage resident independence while providing compassionate support.
Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests.
Observe and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or cognitive condition.
Communication & Teamwork
Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
Participate in shift reports and resident care meetings.
Support a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Compliance & Safety
Follow all infection control, OSHA, and safety procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation.
Comply with all federal, state, and community regulations.
Participate in mandatory education and in-service training.
Qualifications
Current North Carolina Medication Aide certification required.
Current North Carolina Nurse Aide I certification is required.
Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Previous experience in Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, or Memory Care preferred.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused.
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to assist residents with transfers and mobility.
Ability to respond quickly during emergencies.

Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available
Day and Night shifts available (7am-7pm, 7pm-7am)
Weekend and holiday rotation required
