Shift Details
  • On Call Requirements:
    • 30-minute response time
    • 7-8 shifts per month
  • Shift Description:
    • 24-hour call (7 am - 7 am) with 20-minute response time
    • Contact via cell phone
    • Clinic hours: 8 am - 5 pm, Monday-Friday
  • Schedule/Availability Requirements:
    • 7-8 call shifts per month, can be combined with clinic days
    • 3 days of clinic per week, 3 weeks per month preferred
    • Site can be flexible on which weeks locum is available
    • Multiple part-time locums not preferred; consistent clinic presence desired
Responsibilities

We are seeking an OB/GYN Physician to provide clinic and call coverage. The office setting is shared with multiple specialties and includes:

  • Team Composition:
    • 2 OB/GYNs
    • 2 Family Practice with OB (FPBO)
    • 2 Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM)
  • Duties Include:
    • OB/GYN clinic care
    • OB and GYN call coverage through Labor & Delivery Unit and Emergency Department
  • Setting: Critical Access Hospital and Clinic
  • Required Procedures:
    • C-Section
    • Ectopic pregnancy management
    • Repair of 3rd-4th degree lacerations
  • Support Staff:
    • Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in clinic
    • Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses (RNs) at the hospital
Additional Details
  • Average Worked Callback Hours:
    • Weekday: 3-4 hours
    • Weekend: 1-2 hours
    • Less than 50% on weekdays, more on weekends and ER
  • Reason for Coverage: Medical Leave
  • FTE: Full-time equivalent preferred
  • Dealbreakers: Must be comfortable handling low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, fetal heart rate (FHR) interpretation, routine and complicated deliveries, OB inductions, and emergent GYN surgeries. Must be willing to assist and supervise C-sections if needed.
