What is an ob flight nurse?

An OB Flight Nurse is a specialized flight nurse who provides critical care and transport for obstetric patients, including high-risk pregnancies and neonatal emergencies. They work on medical helicopters or fixed-wing aircraft, stabilizing and monitoring patients while ensuring safe transport to appropriate medical facilities. These nurses must have advanced knowledge in maternal-fetal medicine, neonatal resuscitation, and emergency care. Their role is crucial in ensuring timely medical intervention for mothers and newborns in critical situations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an ob flight nurse?

To thrive as an Ob Flight Nurse, you need advanced knowledge of obstetrics and emergency nursing, a current RN license, and typically certifications such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
