Job description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanics in the Oak Hills, CA area. Mechanics will work with machines and equipment used in deep foundation drilling to inspect, repair and maintain them with minimal down time. Mechanics must have sufficient industry knowledge to independently troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical failures. This includes:


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure operation of machinery, equipment, and trucks by completing routine preventive maintenance on engines, motors, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, high pressure air systems, fuel systems, and mechanical systems.
  • Inspect, repair, remove, and replace defective or damaged parts using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.
  • Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, and summarizing information on work orders.
  • Read and comprehend technical publications and schematics.
  • Complete shop related duties as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Mechanic must have their own tools.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Valid insurance.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
  • Knowledge of equipment with strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.


Working Environments:

  • Outdoor environments with prolonged exposure to weather conditions such as sun, rain, snow, and cold.
  • In and around construction zones with uneven and muddy terrain.
  • Equipment yards with shops that are open to exterior environments with no air conditioning.
  • Job sites, construction zones, and yards with moving equipment, cranes, and machinery.
  • Elevated positions while working on equipment such as drill rigs, excavators, and cranes.


Employees must also be able to safely work with the following heavy equipment systems while in the environments listed above:

  • Moving mechanical components.
  • Electrical systems and components.
  • Hydraulic systems and components.
  • Fuel systems and flammable liquids.
  • Hazardous liquids and agents.
  • Truck mounted cranes.
  • High pressure air systems.
  • High pressure pumping systems.
  • Cranes and rigging systems.


Compensation:

  • Pay is commensurate with experience and qualifications, hourly-based, and disbursed weekly.
