What is an ODM?

ODMs, or Original Design Manufacturers, are companies that design and manufacture products which are then rebranded and sold by other companies. Unlike OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), which produce items to another company's design, ODMs create their own product designs and allow clients to customize branding and specifications. This model is common in industries like electronics, apparel, and consumer goods because it allows brands to quickly bring products to market without extensive R&D or manufacturing capabilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an ODM professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as an ODM professional, you need expertise in product design, manufacturing processes, and supply chain management, often supported by an engineering degree or related qualification. Familiarity with CAD software, ERP systems, and quality control standards is typically required. Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills help you collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams. These skills ensure efficient product development, high quality, and successful partnerships in a competitive manufacturing environment.

What are some common challenges faced by ODM professionals in coordinating with clients and suppliers?

ODM professionals often encounter challenges in aligning client requirements with manufacturing capabilities, especially when dealing with custom product designs and tight timelines. Effective communication is key, as misunderstandings can lead to design revisions or production delays. Additionally, ODMs must manage expectations around cost, quality, and compliance with international standards while collaborating closely with suppliers, engineers, and quality assurance teams. Building strong relationships and establishing clear project milestones are essential for successful project delivery.

What is the difference between Odm vs Data Analyst?

AspectOdmData Analyst
Required CredentialsTypically requires certifications in data management, database systems, or specific ODM toolsRequires degrees in statistics, mathematics, or related fields; often certifications in data analysis or visualization
Work EnvironmentWorks primarily with data management systems, databases, and product dataAnalyzes data sets, creates reports, and visualizations for business insights
Employer & Industry UsageUsed in manufacturing, retail, and e-commerce for product data managementCommon across finance, marketing, and business intelligence sectors

While ODMs focus on managing product data and ensuring data quality within organizations, Data Analysts interpret data to support decision-making. Both roles require strong analytical skills, but ODMs are more specialized in data governance and management systems, whereas Data Analysts focus on data interpretation and reporting.

Job description

NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It's a unique legacy of innovation that's fueled by great technology-and amazing people. Today, we're tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what's never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world's best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you'll be immersed in a diverse, supportive environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work. Come join the team and see how you can make a lasting impact on the world.

NVIDIA is seeking a Field Application Engineering Manager to lead technical execution for rack-scale AI system integration through ODM and manufacturing partner ecosystems. This leader will manage and develop FAEs supporting partner integration, validation, launch readiness, escalation management, and production ramp. The role requires strong technical depth, people leadership, and the ability to coordinate across NVIDIA engineering, architecture, program, account, and partner-facing teams. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment, combining people leadership with hands-on technical judgment. Excellent communication skills, independent execution, and the ability to build repeatable operating rhythms across complex partner integration work are essential.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead a team of FAEs providing technical support for ODM and manufacturing partner integration, validation, launch readiness, and production ramp.

  • Work closely with account, program, architecture, engineering, operations, and partner-facing teams to align priorities, resolve issues, and support successful rack-scale system execution.

  • Own escalation rhythm for critical partner integration issues, provide clear risk visibility, and drive timely closure across cross-functional teams.

  • Be a technical expert on NVIDIA products and rack-scale AI infrastructure, leading technical support across design-in, NPI, rack integration, validation, production ramp, sustaining support, and lifecycle transitions.

  • Nurture the growth of direct reports, including supervision, training, and mentoring.

  • Build repeatable operating rhythms, debug practices, and readiness reviews across the team.

What we need to see:

  • BS or MS in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).

  • 8+ overall years of experience in rack integration, datacenter systems, technical customer support, manufacturing support, or partner-facing engineering, with prior technical leadership or people management experience

  • 4+ years of experience leading a team

  • Comfortable in a hands-on lab environment

  • In-depth knowledge of computer systems architecture beneficial

  • Linux and Linux system administration skills

  • Familiarity with server, rack, GPU, networking, storage, firmware/BMC, power, thermal, cabling, and Linux-based debug workflows.

  • Experience with manufacturing or integration partner workflows.

  • Experience with issue triage, escalation management, and cross-functional risk communication.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience leading FAEs or technical teams through rack-scale system NPI, validation, or production ramp.

  • Background with ODM/manufacturing partner engagement.

  • Experience with factory readiness, rack integration, deployment issue triage, or large-scale infrastructure rollout.

  • Strong familiarity with NVIDIA GPU, networking, and rack-scale infrastructure.
