Job description

Duties Description Washington Heights is currently recruiting an Occupational Therapist to provide occupational therapy treatment services to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with individuals to achieve the best physical, cognitive, and mental functioning in daily life skills including:
โ€ข Conducting evaluations and assessments to determine individuals' capabilities and needs in areas of strength, functional mobility, and self-care skills
โ€ข Making recommendations on treatment based on evaluation results
โ€ข Observing and reporting individuals' progress, response, and behavior
โ€ข Supervising individual and group occupational therapy activities
Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Occupational Therapist if you are licensed and current registered as an Occupational Therapist in New York.
OR
Candidates within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

The posted salary includes a Downstate adjustment of $4,000 and a geographic pay differential of $13,000.
