What is NYSDOT?

NYSDOT stands for the New York State Department of Transportation. It is the government agency responsible for developing and maintaining New York State's transportation systems, including highways, bridges, railways, and public transit. NYSDOT works to ensure the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the state's transportation infrastructure, serving millions of residents and visitors. The agency also oversees transportation planning, construction projects, and regulatory compliance across the state.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a NYSDOT employee?

To thrive as a NYSDOT employee, you need a strong background in civil engineering, transportation planning, or construction management, often supported by a relevant degree and, for certain roles, a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
