Job description

PRIMARY SCHEDULE:

  • Monday-Thursday 7:00am-3:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
  • Note: Occasional hours available on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Days and hours may vary and include evenings, and weekends, as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in commercial floor care preferred, including operation of buffers, burnishers, scrubbers, and other floor maintenance equipment.
  • Current California driver's license with an acceptable DMV printout, insurability.
  • Ability to pass a DOJ criminal background check.
  • Ability to pass CPR and First Aid courses.
  • Ability to call, text, and/or email.
  • Ability to be certified in Behavior Tools.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows all NVS safety procedures, policies, and guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Performs specialized floor maintenance including buffing, burnishing, stripping, waxing, polishing, and scrubbing floors.
  • Operates and maintains floor care equipment including buffers, burnishers, auto scrubbers, vacuums, and related tools.
  • Maintains floors in a clean, safe, and professional condition that meets contract quality standards.
  • Identifies floor surface issues and reports needed repairs or maintenance concerns to the Project Manager/Job Coach.
  • Ensures proper storage, handling, and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Motivates and assists clients in establishing professional work ethics, social skills, and appropriate workplace behavior.
  • Multitasks and prioritizes duties to meet deadlines and contract requirements.
  • Participates in continuous staff development and training.
  • Works with minimal supervision and exercises independent judgment.
  • Completes required progress reports, inspections, and billing paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Demonstrates and maintains a positive and professional attitude and demeanor.
  • Considers public safety and convenience at all times while performing duties.
  • Ensures employer expectations and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Reports all incidents, accidents, vandalism, theft, and unsafe conditions to the Project Manager/Job Coach.
  • Keeps janitorial closets, breakrooms, vehicles, and equipment clean, organized, and secure.
  • Removes trash, debris, and other materials from assigned work areas as needed.
  • Uses hand and power tools and performs minor equipment maintenance as required.
  • Drives NVS vehicles as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned, including assisting at other sites or departments when necessary.
