Job description

Description
  • Provide services on a consultative basis throughout the system in the development of policy and procedures for food service and nutritional programs (i.e. advice food service managers on sanitation and safety procedures, menu development, evaluation of food).
  • Assesses nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement nutritional-care plans and provide nutritional counseling.
  • Advice patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet menu preparation.
  • Assures all nutritional regulatory compliance issues are being addressed in the departments.
  • Prepares, and composes menus as needed for all campus locations.
  • Provides or helps support educational opportunities & in-servicing to all nutritional services staff.
  • Provide outpatient nutrition education and consulting.
  • Consult to the long term care, home health and assisted living facilities as needed.
  • Remains well informed on subjects affecting health care field: attends education events to keep abreast of current developments, builds network with professionals in Dietetics field.
  • Participates in quality assurance, quality improvement and performance improvement.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships with associates.
  • Supports and abides by the mission, values, and policies of CHCS in all activities.
  • On-going compliance with CHCS educational requirements.
  • All other duties as required.

Requirements
Licensed Dietitian in the State of Kansas (LD)
Register Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
