If you're looking to work flexibly and with purpose, join a team that delivers measurable change for millions.

About the Nutrition Team

On the Nutrition team, we collaborate with country-based and cross-cutting functional teams, governments, partner organizations, and technical experts to design and scale high impact, cost-effective nutrition programs. We support Evidence Action's established Deworm the World (DTW) and Equal Vitamin Access (EVA) programs, as well as earlier stage exploration of new nutrition interventions. We are a passionate team that aims to foster continuous growth and embraces new challenges as learning experiences.

We are seeking a Manager, Nutrition who will play a key role in helping to strengthen our existing footprint and support the expansion of our nutrition programs which currently includes iron and folic acid (IFA) supplementation for children, small quantity lipid based micronutrients (SQLN-S) to prevent micronutrient deficiencies among infants and young children. This may grow to include additional nutrition interventions that are identified through Evidence Action's Accelerator process.

In this role you will report to our Program Manager, Nutrition, and assist our Executive Vice President across strategic projects and team coordination.

This is a time-bound position (currently scoped at 12 months), with role extension possible depending on portfolio needs.

You Will:

Program Management and Execution (20%):

  • Provide technical, project management, and strategic support for the implementation of an existing EVA program (particularly SQLN-S in Nigeria), ensuring technically sound implementation and government alignment:
  • Support country team members with strategic and technical guidance, tools, and resources for implementation of the program in their relevant country context.
  • Support in developing and monitoring program  workplans, budgets and milestone trackers to ensure timely, quality implementation.
  • Provide technical and research support to inform long-term goals and implementation pathways.

Support Growth Across the Nutrition Portfolio (50%):

  • Contribute to the expansion of Evidence Action's existing and new nutrition programs by conducting scoping activities in Africa and Asia to understand the partner landscape, government buy-in, and potential impact and feasibility of program expansion in those geographies.
  • Support development of reports to inform the organization's internal understanding on the potential design, impact and cost-effectiveness of expansion activities.
  • Review the evidence base, cost-effectiveness and implementation feasibility of nutrition interventions in the Accelerator pipeline. As interventions progress through the pipeline, support development of initial plans for scoping and piloting interventions as needed.

Engagement with internal and external stakeholders (30%):

  • Support our Executive Vice President across strategic team initiatives; this may include coordinating team level objectives, supporting development and execution of key strategic initiatives, and drafting presentations for leadership decision making.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (i.e. cost-effectiveness and monitoring, learning and evaluation (MLE)) to design cost-effectiveness models, theories of change, MLE frameworks, implementation research studies, surveys and evaluations.
  • Support identification and engagement with values-aligned donors, including development fundraising materials (pitches, slide decks, budgets), and tracking of fundraising work-plans
  • Provide input on cultivating strategic partnerships with external stakeholders (technical experts, government, multilaterals and other development partners) to enable effective collaboration and advocacy.

Requirements

  • You hold a bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of work experience designing and implementing global health or international development programs.
  • You have experience managing global health/nutrition programs, including the development and management of budgets and workplans.
  • You build relationships across departments, levels, geographies and backgrounds with an ability to influence a variety of stakeholders in multicultural settings, including researchers, implementing partners, donors, and government officials.
  • You have experience engaging in fundraising activities and supporting development of donor reports
  • You have strong writing skills to draft donor reports, pitch decks, and briefs, with the ability to communicate evidence-based programming and results to a non-technical audience.
  • You build decks and documents for external use (e.g. case studies, reports, concept notes, articles/blog posts).
