Job description

Position Title:  School Nutrition Assistant
Effective Date:  2026-2027 school year, 183-day position
Reports to:  School Nutrition Manager
Qualifications:  High school diploma or GED certificate is desired.  Previous school cafeteria experience preferred.
Performance Responsibilities:
Participates in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food.
            Stores and cares for foods and supplies.
            Cleans, services and cares for equipment and facilities.
            Checks invoices and inventory of food and supplies.
            Records inventory numbers of food and supplies properly.
            Follows the daily work schedule and uses standardized recipes for food preparation.
            Plans for the use of left-over food with the manager.
            Keeps work areas neat and clean.
            Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
.           Displays a positive attitude, spreads enthusiasm, and enjoys serving young people.
            Attends in-service programs for on-the-job improvement.
            Performs other duties relating to the preparation and serving of food and general cleaning
            which are assigned by the school nutrition manager.
           Complies with any reasonable oral or written directive of the food service manager or other
           administrator.
