WORK SCHEDULE: 5.5 hours per day; 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday-Friday available for the 2026-2027 School Year.

Job Summary:

  • Assist in food preparation as assigned and set up food serving lines.
  • Position involves handling a number of food allergens and a variety of meat products.
  • Serve food in the correct portions by adhering to the production records and standardized recipes.
  • Assist in clean up.
  • Perform Point of Sale (POS) procedures as assigned.
  • Adhere to District's HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) plan.
  • Wash, sanitize and store kitchen equipment and utensils according to USDA and local guidelines.
  • Support and promote the meal programs offered at the site.
  • Perform other tasks within the level of responsibilities indicated above as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Must have completed or be willing to enroll and complete the SNS required food safety training course.
  • Experience in a public school kitchen and/or background in related food service operations.
  • Knowledge of government guidelines and procedures concerning sanitation and safety.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills and experience or willing to learn.
  • Regular, on-time attendance is required.
  • Stooping, bending, occasional awkward positions may be necessary to perform essential functions of the position. Must be able to lift 31-50 lbs.
