Job description

Premier Cooperative is seeking a Custom Applicator / Driver to join our Agronomy team in Lancaster. This role is responsible for custom application of crop inputs and delivery of agronomy products, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service. 

This position plays a key role in supporting growers throughout the season with application services, product delivery, and field support.

Key Responsibilities

Custom Application

  • Apply crop protection products and plant nutrients safely and accurately
  • Operate sprayers, spreaders, and application equipment
  • Mix, load, and handle products following all regulatory and company guidelines
  • Complete required application records and documentation daily
  • Ensure timely application aligned with agronomic recommendations

Driving & Delivery

  • Deliver seed, fertilizer, and crop protection products to customers
  • Operate and maintain CDL-required vehicles in a safe and compliant manner
  • Complete delivery paperwork and communicate with the team on logistics
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies

Agronomy & Field Support

  • Assist with field scouting, soil sampling, and agronomic observations
  • Communicate field conditions (weeds, insects, crop conditions) to agronomists
  • Support blending, loading, and plant operations during peak seasons

Equipment & Facility Maintenance

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on application and trucking equipment
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and facilities
  • Assist with inventory handling and product receiving

Customer Service & Team Support

  • Provide positive, professional interaction with customers
  • Respond to customer needs and support the agronomy team
  • Assist other departments or locations as needed during peak seasons
  • Be available for extended hours, including weekends, during spring and fall seasons

Qualifications

  • Valid CDL (Class A preferred) or ability to obtain
  • Commercial Applicator License or ability to obtain
  • Strong attention to safety, detail, and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus

Physical & Work Environment

  • Ability to lift 50–60 lbs repeatedly
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Exposure to dust, chemicals, and agricultural environments
  • Ability to work long hours during peak seasons
