Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nursing Home Administrator to support our skilled nursing facility in Wilmington, NC. This position is responsible to oversee the operation of the Nursing Home’s activities in accordance with company Policies and Procedures, current Federal, State and Local standards. This individual will work closely with the DON and CEO to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care and service is maintained at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and direct the implementation of written policies and procedures that reflect the goals and objectives of the facility and organization. Review on a regular basis to ensure they remain up to date.
  • Direct the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures and establish a rapport in and between departments so that each can see the importance of teamwork.
  • Assure that personnel, residents, visitors and the general public follow established policies and procedures.
  • Interpret the facility and organization’s policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, visitors, etc. as may become necessary.
  • Ensure that residents’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to make complaints are well established and maintained at all times.
  • Maintain an active public relations program that serves the best interest of the facility, organization and community alike.
  • Maintain an excellent working relationship with the medical profession and other health-related facilities and organizations through formal working and transfer agreements.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the facility and organization.
  • Oversee and delegate recruitment for the department as necessary.
  • Meet with nursing leadership concerning the operation of their departments and other related areas to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas and/or improving services regularly.
  • Review and monitor competence of workforce and make necessary adjustments/corrections as required or that may become necessary using company policies and procedures.
  • Submit requested reporting as needed.
  • Review and interpret monthly financial statements and provide such information to senior leadership; prepare an annual operating budget for approval by senior leadership.
  • Keep abreast of the economic and regulatory condition/situation of the industry and facility operations and make recommendations and/or adjustments as necessary to assure the continued ability to provide quality resident care and services.
Education

Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration or other health related degree and must meet state licensure requirements.

Licensure/Certification

Must be a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.

Experience
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a NHA role in the state of North Carolina.
