Starting pay: $20/hr. Additional $ for years of experience.
As a CNA you will work as part of a healthcare team to provide quality nursing care to individuals served. Devereux has deep roots in the field supporting individuals with behavioral and mental health challenges, and offers excellent opportunities for field and professional training and experience to its employees. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Assist our Nursing staff with various tasks such as checking vital signs, collecting specimen, escorting individuals to their units, administrative tasks, maintaining records, and providing treatment under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Assist with training new CNAs, in addition to crisis intervention (deescalating and restraining as needed).
  • Communicates effectively and tactfully with individuals served, visitors, families, peers, supervisors, and medical personnel.
  • Knowledgeable of individualized care plans and provides support according to the individual's care plan.

Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent, graduate of an approved CNA program, and valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in GA.
Experience: Minimum of one year experience as a certified nursing assistant is preferred.
Other qualifications:
  • Must have flexible availability between 6:30am-9pm! Must have weekend and holiday availability.
  • Valid Driver's License and Satisfactory Drug Screen and Background Check results.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong technical skills and comfortable utilizing in-house computer applications for documenting and reporting purposes.
  • Must be able to complete a two-week, paid new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 8:30am to 5:30pm daily (lunch is included).
