This role provides high level support to our Actuary Department.

OBJECTIVES

Use actuarial techniques to support the Actuarial Department in analyzing, pricing and monitoring risks; the risks will include Property, Casualty, Auto, Marine and Specialty lines. Continually improve existing processes throughout program.

RESPONSIBILITIES - WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Learn about actuarial pricing and assist in pricing reviews of large accounts and programs.
  • Assist in producing monthly pricing metrics, portfolio dashboards and branch P&L.
  • Updated existing pricing and portfolio management tools and find ways to improve current processes.
  • Assist in collecting data and producing analytics for portfolio reviews, planning and year-end reporting.
  • Prepare, validate and analyze exposure, premium and claims data as basis for actuarial analyses.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Finance, IT, Claims and Risk Control on ad-hoc projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Bachelor's degree co-op student with a history of strong academic performance.
  • Proven track record in customer service with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong analytical, organizational and time management skills; must be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to conceptualize details and develop action plans for problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment with limited supervision.
  • Personal integrity, initiative and leadership qualities.
  • Experience with Alteryx, SQL, VBA is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other enterprise business tools, including responsible use of AIenabled technologies (such as Copilot or similar) to enhance efficiency, analysis and workflow in accordance with company policies.
