In this role, you will oversee daily clinic operations, manage chronic pediatric conditions, and provide immediate triage in a low-stress, highly supportive private school environment. This is the ultimate career transition for an experienced pediatric NP or APRN ready to leave behind the exhausting shifts and high burnout of hospital healthcare.

Core Responsibilities
  • Campus Clinical Leadership: Oversee daily Health Center operations across all grade levels—providing primary clinical triage, first aid, emergency care, and ongoing health management.

  • Chronic Condition Management: Develop and manage Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students navigating chronic diagnoses (e.g., severe allergies, Type 1 diabetes, asthma, seizure disorders), ensuring safe medication administration.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Records: Enforce full compliance with Florida Department of Health and Board of Education standards, maintaining confidential medical histories, immunization files, and state-mandated health screenings.

  • Emergency Care Readiness: Direct campus emergency health responses, maintaining immediate readiness for acute injuries or sudden illnesses.

  • Multidisciplinary Liaison: Act as the primary medical advocate connecting parents, school administrators, faculty, and local pediatricians to champion student well-being.

Minimum Prerequisites
  • State Licensure: Active, unencumbered Florida license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in good standing.

  • Pediatric Clinical Experience: Minimum of 3 to 4 years of dedicated experience treating pediatric populations in a clinical, pediatric practice, urgent care, or educational environment.

  • Mandatory Certifications:

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR Certification.

    • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification.

  • Clearances: Ability to pass a Florida Level 2 background screening and pre-employment drug panel required for educational staff.

Preferred Attributes
  • Gentle, patient demeanor paired with exceptional interpersonal skills tailored for young children and parents.

  • Strong organizational capability to manage student medical files, action plans, and state reporting.

  • Decisive, calm triage capabilities in acute clinical situations.
