The Academic Success Coach plays an integral role in the support and success of students in an accelerated nursing program at our site in Sugar Land, TX. Major responsibilities include registration, academic advising/success coaching and the retention/persistence of enrolled nursing students. The Success Coach interacts with students, university faculty and advising teams, professional staff, and other program personnel to enhance and facilitate the progression, and graduation of students. If your area of expertise is counseling, coaching, guiding and cheerleading in a higher education setting, please join us!

Academic Partner: University of St. Thomas Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Site location: 14090 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478
Schedule: Onsite position, Mon-Fri standard business hours
Primary Job Objectives:
  • Facilitation and support of student progression
  • Provide on-site success coaching and coordination of appropriate student services
  • Manage student registration process for each semester (3 per year)

What You Will Do:
  • Provides proactive and developmental coaching/advising for all active students
  • Actively initiates and continues ongoing guidance to students whose grades, attendance, and/or personal barriers put them academically at risk
  • Communicates concerns about student progress to the student, faculty members, and administration in conjunction with coaching efforts and strategy
  • Consistently stays engaged with students in order to promote success by using forums such as: one on one meetings, phone calls, face-to-face video chat, and success seminars
  • Ensures timely coordination of registration of selected courses
  • Acts as a liaison for student(s) in matters related to academic appeals, readmission requests, grievances, etc. affecting a student's progress through the program
  • Appropriately documents communication with students and maintains all required student population reports
