StatCare is a private Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep, and Hospitalist medical practice dedicated to providing high-quality inpatient & outpatient care to patients throughout East Tennessee. Our physicians and advanced practice providers are committed to delivering patient-centered care to ensuring continuity, expertise, and compassion at every stage of hospitalization. The Chart Builder is responsible for preparing complete and accurate patient charts in the EMR system prior to scheduled appointments. This is a highly technical role that requires an individual who is exceptionally computer savvy and able to efficiently navigate multiple electronic medical record systems, hospital portals, imaging platforms, and laboratory systems simultaneously. Working much like a healthcare data analyst, this position retrieves, validates, organizes, and imports patient records and diagnostic images from multiple sources into the EMR system, ensuring providers have all necessary clinical information before each patient visit. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build complete patient charts in the EMR system prior to scheduled appointments.
  • Review previous provider documentation to identify required testing, imaging, labs, and consultation notes.
  • Retrieve, organize, and import medical records, reports, and diagnostic images from multiple electronic portals into the EMR system.
  • Navigate multiple software applications and web-based systems simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
  • Identify missing documentation and coordinate with outside facilities or providers to obtain records.
  • Ensure patient charts are complete, accurate, and organized before each visit.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of all patient information.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Advanced computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple electronic systems.
  • Experience with electronic medical records; Cerner or similar EMR system experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical office, health information management, medical records, or similar healthcare setting.
