As of Jul 21, 2026, the average yearly pay for nucleotide in the United States is $96,169.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $81,000.00 and $109,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the job of a nucleotide?

A nucleotide is not a job but a biological molecule that forms the building blocks of DNA and RNA, essential for genetic information storage and transfer. In a biological or research context, roles related to nucleotides involve studying their structure, function, and synthesis, often requiring knowledge of biochemistry and laboratory techniques.

What is the nucleic acid job?

A nucleic acid job typically involves working with DNA or RNA in research, diagnostics, or biotechnology settings. Roles may include laboratory analysis, genetic sequencing, or molecular biology techniques, often requiring knowledge of laboratory tools and protocols.

What jobs can I do with molecular biology?

With a background in molecular biology, you can pursue roles such as research scientist, laboratory technician, or biotech analyst, often working in labs, healthcare, or pharmaceutical companies. These jobs typically require skills in laboratory techniques, data analysis, and knowledge of genetic or cellular processes, with opportunities for advancement through certifications or advanced degrees.

What careers involve working with DNA?

Careers involving working with DNA include molecular biologists, geneticists, bioinformaticians, and laboratory technicians. These roles typically require knowledge of genetics, laboratory skills, and often a degree in biology, genetics, or a related field. They involve tasks such as DNA analysis, sequencing, and research in labs or research institutions.

What is the difference between Nucleotide vs Biologist?

AspectNucleotideBiologist
Required CredentialsHigh school diploma or equivalent; specialized training in molecular biology or geneticsBachelor's degree or higher in biology, genetics, or related field
Work EnvironmentLaboratories, research facilities, biotech companiesResearch labs, universities, environmental agencies
Industry UsageGenetics, molecular biology, biotechnologyResearch, education, environmental science

While a nucleotide is a basic building block of DNA and RNA, a biologist studies living organisms and biological processes. Nucleotides are essential components in genetic research, which biologists often analyze. Understanding nucleotides is crucial for biologists working in genetics and molecular biology, but the roles differ: nucleotides are molecular units, whereas biologists focus on broader biological systems and research.
