Position Overview:

TEAM is seeking motivated and reliable Heat-Treating Assistants to support Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) and related thermal processes at job sites and in-shop environments. This entry-level role works alongside certified heat treat technicians to set up, monitor, and remove equipment used for controlled heating of materials-primarily pressure vessels, piping, structural components, and weld zones. Primary Responsibilities:

* Assist in setup, operation, and breakdown of heat-treating equipment, including electric resistance coils, ceramic pads, induction units, and thermocouple instrumentation.

* Clean and prepare components for heat treatment following safety and client specifications.

* Lay out and secure insulation, heating elements, and monitoring hardware on piping, vessels, or weld zones.

* Monitor temperature controllers and data recorders to support certified technicians during operations.

* Cut and apply thermocouples accurately and securely under technician supervision.

* Retrieve and organize documentation, charts, and materials to support job setup and reporting.

* Follow strict safety procedures related to high-temperature equipment, electrical hazards, and confined or elevated work areas.

* Maintain tools, consumables, and equipment in safe, working conditions.

* Travel to client sites as required, sometimes for extended assignments or turnaround schedules.

* Follow all safety rules, client site protocols, and TEAM's Life Critical Expectations.

* Perform general labor duties related to rigging, lifting, and access equipment setup.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Prior experience assisting with PWHT, induction heating, or thermal processing.

* Basic electrical knowledge or experience working around power distribution equipment.

* Familiarity with welding, inspection, or other industrial trades.

* Current TWIC, OSHA 10/30, or other industry-standard safety certifications.

* Basic mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools/equipment.

Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or GED equivalent

* Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.

* Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening background check.

* Must be able to obtain TWIC, DISA, and/or other site access credentials.

* Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and measurement devices.

* Willingness to travel and work in various environments is typically found in Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Power, Municipality, Aerospace, and other type settings.

* Willingness and ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules as required.

* Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various environmental conditions.

* Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

* Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.

* Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver in a standard, refinery or plant environment to include the ability to access elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells except when performing non-field duties.

Work Conditions

* Position is based out of a TEAM field office or client site location.

* Able to wear safety equipment for any task and as required by the safety department for personal protection.

* May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.

* May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
