Job description

Strategic Nuclear Systems Planner
The Opportunity:
Research and assess existing Department of War ( DoW ) global nuclear deterrence strategy, declaratory policy , adversary capabilities, and employment doctrine to guide their evolutions to support and anticipate the global political and military environment. Evaluate near-peer nuclear modernization programs and strategic signaling continuously to assess multi-polar threats and ensure the U.S. deterrent remains credible. Provide technical expertise to conduct rigorous analyses of nuclear systems, and evaluate performance and reliability factors. Synthesize complex technical data into clear, operationally relevant written and verbal assessments. Review and interpret nuclear studies, weapon s-effects analyses, and hazard-environment research, with particular emphasis on determining implications for force readiness, mission planning, and strategic deterrence. Estimate and correlate operational impacts and provide expert guidance on risk, survivability, and mission assurance considerations. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of National Security System ( NSS ) architectures to evaluate system interdependencies, identify vulnerabilities, and support enterprise-level mission and architecture analyses. Apply technical experience with nuclear weapon s and asso cia ted effects to inform planning activities, wargaming efforts, scenario development, and strategic assessments.
You Have:
  • 1+ years of experience assessing and interpreting nuclear research studies for operational impacts, nuclear science, and hazard environments
  • 1+ years of experience analyzing nuclear weapon s effects
  • 1+ years of experience with IC reporting requirements and processes
  • Knowledge of National Security Space systems and architectures
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 5+ years of experience supporting the DoW, Department of Energy ( DoE ) , or IC in a nuclear weapon s targeting or strategic e nga gement planning role, or 10+ years of experience supporting the DoW, DoE, or IC in a nuclear weapon s targeting or strategic e nga gement planning role in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience analyzing and characterizing foreign ballistic missiles, hypersonic glide vehicles, hypersonic cruise missiles, missile trajectory analysis, and missile signatures
  • Experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering sof tware tools to model weapon systems, system behaviors, structures, and interfaces
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Master's degree in a STEM field preferred ; Doctorate degree in a STEM field a plus

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information ; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
